Economic Gardening coming to Region

We are pleased to announce that thanks to a grant from USDA we will be offering Economic gardening in the Promise Zone counties!

Those counties included in our service region include:  Clinton, Jackson, McCreary, Rockcastle, Russell, Wayne and Whitley Counties.

Economic Gardening is an entrepreneurial approach to economic development that seeks to grow the local economy from within.  Economic gardening seeks to focus on growing and nurturing local businesses rather than hunting for "big game" outside the area.

Services that are offered as part of Economic Gardening include market research, Use of GIS to create maps for clients, Search Engine Optimization and Social Media Optimization and discussion of the client's core business strategy.  Each client will receive services valued at over $4,000 at no cost.

Eligible businesses must met the following criteria:

  • B2B business model
  • 5 or more employees
  • In business at least 3 years
  • Kentucky owned
  • Owner interested in growing the business
  • Profitable 2 out of last 3 years
  • Minimum $500,000 in gross annual revenue
